Welding Smoke Doesn’t Have To Be An Issue

When it gets cold and we start to shut the doors, the exhaust fans aren’t nearly as effective.  The negative air pressure rises making man doors dangerous to open and close.  You have to provide fresh air!  Or suffer in a clouds of welding smoke.  It doesn’t have to be this way.  There are solutions.  One of the BEST solutions for the welding and fabrication industry is Keep The Heat Air Exchangers.

Keep The Heat works on the displacement ventilation principle.  Keep The Heat provides fresh air at the floor level and removes smoke and contaminated air at the ceiling.  This air flow pattern works perfectly with the naturally rising welding smoke.  By creating a pocket of fresh air for the worker and removing the smoke at the ceiling, Keep The Heat is doesn’t attempt to turn-over ALL the air in the building like traditional HVAC would.  This would be incredibly inefficient and expensive.  Instead we only affect the areas that need fresh air.

The second feature of Keep The Heat is the heat recovery element.  By using the outgoing (Warm) air to heat up the incoming (Colder) air, we are able recover a vast majority of the heat and put it in the fresh air!  This allows the worker to feel tempered fresh air.  Reducing the stress on your heating system and your monthly energy bills!  You can find the demonstration video here.

Third, once installed, Keep The Heat requires little to no maintenance.  No Filters!
